Hey Future Dreamers,
I am Accountant Amaya. I would like to share with you exactly what I do. As young entrepreneurs my profession is a crucial key role. Any business you start the main goal is to create revenue right? This is where I come in, Businesses hire me to come in and maintain all financial records for their organizations. I would be issuing invoices to customers, receiving invoices from suppliers, handling payroll for employees, and most important make sure that the cash flow with the business is properly managed and running smoothly.
I am responsible for running financial reports for the business owners. They want to know where their money is going when, where, and to whom. The most important reports are called income statements, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows. Income statements are a representation of the business financial results for a specified period of time. The period of time for that statement could be weekly, monthly or quarterly. A balance sheet is a break down of the business's assets, liability, and equity on a specified date that the report is requested. The balance sheet is also determines the performance of the business. The statement of cash flow report outlines what money comes in and what money goes out on a monthly basis.
So when you guys are in school wondering why addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is so important, this is why. These mathematical equations are crucial to anything dealing with numbers. I hope I was able to provide you with some insight on what I do. Accounting is the heart of running a business.
